Story and photos by Dave Wolin The Studio City Chamber of Commerce joined forces with the Television Motion Picture Car Club to put on the first ever "Flavor of LA - Food Cars Libations" at the CBS Studios in Studio City.

Located at the intersection of Gunsmoke Avenue and Gilligan’s island Road, the dual food/car event took up some substantial acreage on the CBS Studio lot. And, true to form, a few thousand LA (and beyond) foodies and car people rolled in on Sunday afternoon, May 21st, for some serious dining, imbibing, and talking cars.

Over 40 restaurants from around the area participated in the feast, with offerings ranging from the unique cheeses of the Artisan Cheese Gallery, fried Cajun Catfish from Fishtrap and the self-described revolutionary Thai chicken pizza of "Pizza Rev". Rinse that down with the likes of beverages from craft beer makers "King Harbor Brewing" and "Buzz Box" cocktails followed by desserts from "Cake Bash" and the notorious ice cream cookie cake of "Cream" and you have a full afternoon of fine food and beverage on a historic Hollywood back lot.

Combine all the above good eats and drinks with a whole bunch of unique motorcars from members of the film community (the TMPCC membership is composed of people who work in “the industry” both behind and in front of the cameras) and you have quite a show,

There were a number of never before seen customs, yours truly with his sprint car, "Car Crazy" Barry Meguiar with his Ford GT, and a plethora of exotics.

Superformance sent both a Cobra and Daytona Coupe, blown Chryslers abounded, as did Studebakers, a VW Bus, the well know ‘56 Cadillac from Bob Ratinoff of Classic Auto Rental, that’s been featured in many commercials and topping it off, the Ice Charger from "Fast and the Furious 8", brought by Dennis McCarthy of Vehicle Effects

Phil Fiore from Next Pictures, a major supplier of cars for the movies and TV, brought out a few of his special specimens and was interviewed by KNX radio's Randy Kerdoon. A self-proclaimed car enthusiast himself, Kerdoon broadcast his show live from the event, and had a great time interviewing car owners, fans, and food enthusiasts alike. End of the day, the

cars'n'cusine event was judged it a great success with satisfied restaurateurs who had spent all day describing their products, satisfied attendees, some amazed at how much they ate and the well-fed group of car exhibitors all saying variations of the same idea: "Let's do this again!"
