Glenn Oyoung loves cars at the Petersen Automotive Museum

If you were at the Petersen Museum on the sixth of August last year, you might have seen Glenn Oyoung giving a reading from his children’s book, “C is for Car.” It’s a delightful book for the very young, and the reception from the Petersen crowd resulted in calls for Glenn to expand his publication reach (be on the lookout for a sequel or two). When the 2018 model year begins, Glenn will be expanding his publication repertoire into the automotive world of the young and old. Starting the first of October, Glenn becomes the Publisher of LA Car/LACar.com, taking over the reins from Roy Nakano and John-Fredrik Wright. Nakano has been publishing LA Car since its inception in 1997, and Wright took on the co-publisher role a few years back. Nakano remains as LA Car’s Executive Editor, while Wright remains as Senior Editor. “After 20 years, its time high time to turn it over to someone with brighter eyes and a bushier tail,” said Nakano. “Glenn has the remarkable gift of remaining organized while maintaining a full plate. He’s got great public relations skill, match by a remarkable degree of tenacity and follow-through,” said Nakano. Adds, Wright, “Glenn is also a very good writer, having gone through the LA Car ranks as a contributing editor, and then as an editor-at-large.”

C is for Car, but now P is for Publisher Glenn Oyoung at LA Car

Beyond his work at LA Car, Glenn has some impressive marketing, consulting, and entrepreneurship credentials. He’s the former marketing director of American Racing, and the founder of design and merchandise firm turn3 Creative. As a management consultant, he has helped clients including creative agencies, start-ups, and larger firms provide professional services to clients such as Southern California Edison and Toyota in the areas of marketing, business development, process re-engineering, and customer interaction optimization. Last, but not least, he’s the founder and chief organizer of the San Gabriel Valley cars and coffee event, Carcadia. Two years ago, LA Car made the decision to anoint Doug Stokes as its editor. “One of the best decisions, ever,” says Nakano. Come October 1, 2017, there will be a new publisher in town.
