Story and Photography by Kenneth Chiu With the Queen Mary and the Long Beach skyline as the perfect backdrop, the 13th Annual Japanese Classic Car Show once again brought together an impressive collection of Japanese classics.

Whether seeing a vintage car from the past reminds you of your first car; being dropped off at school in your parents wagon or is a connection to a time long past these cars evoke a special emotion.

One participant said it best, “people in L.A. are so lucky; great weather and the best cars”.  Driving his 1977 Toyota Celica from Phoenix, AZ he was right.  There were the usual big builds with engine swaps and a nice assortment of well kept stocked examples of factory perfection.

If the four wheel eye candy wasn’t enough, a small but novel selection of bikes, Bosozuku styled moped and “Motocompos” were on display.

The sun hasn’t set on JCCS 2017 and I’m already looking forward to next year.
