…As much an adventure book as it is a history book and in-valuable reference guide my opinion (and I’m very pleased to be able to be in pretty early with this note) is that “Twice Around the Clock” is one of those unique works that quite literally reaches far beyond just being a book about American racing cars, racing car drivers, racing car teams and stats.

Traveling through the past and present of the Green Book

There’s the movie, the book, and then there’s the local backstory: For 30 years, Victor Green helped travelers navigate their way through a segregated America—including a segregated Los Angeles.

LACar BOOK REVIEW: “JIM CLARK – The Best Of The Best”
By David Tremayne

Review by Doug Stokes

Jim Clark, a Scots farmer from Duns, Scottish Borders, and Berwickshire is considered by everyone who ever saw him drive a car in competition to be one of racing’s very best ever. He won two Formula 1 World Driving Championships, was the 1964 British Touring Car Champion, and won the 1965 Indianapolis 500.

Clark raced in hundreds of sports and formula car races and was triumphant in more than half of all of the races he drove in regardless of the type of car or the venue. Jim Clark almost seemed to have some sort of magical power over his mounts.

Making it Faster II

He’s done it again.. mild-mannered Norm Dewitt has managed to put together another insider racing tech book that both fans and engineers can enjoy and learn from. I say “mild-mannered”…

I say “mild-mannered” because this guy is always around, quietly getting the straight stuff from the right people.
