The Petersen Automotive Museum is opening the world’s first exhibit exclusively dedicated to electric motorcycles. Times are definitely changing.

There was a time in my live in which an electric motorcycle was something I would see in a Saturday morning cartoon and not in real life. Today is a completely different story. Not only are electric motorcycles real, they’re becoming a viable EV option. This is especially true for those who can’t afford to buy a full-sized EV such as a Tesla.

It won’t be long before electric motorcycles are commonplace so the Petersen Automotive Museum has decided to showcase their path from past to present.

The exhibit, called “Electric Revolution”, features 21 different electric motorcycles. Some of the examples were produced by custom builders while others are production models. The exhibit will also showcase different types of bikes as well. Some of the display pieces will be purpose-built motorsport bikes. Other bikes are one-off prototypes.

Some of the brands on display include CAKE, Alta Motors, and Curtiss Motorcycles. Featured builders include Neil Connolly, Joey Ruiter, Shiny Hammer and more.

Harley Davidson is the underwriter for the exhibit so expect to see a prototype of their 2020 “LiveWire” electric motorcycle on display as well.

Its crazy to think about how far the industry has come in the area of electric vehicles. It is pretty amazing that something like this exists now!

The Electric Revolution exhibit is open now and will be on display until November 2019 so there is plenty of time to check it out.
