“Cuba Cars: Classic Cars of the Carribean”

BOOK REVIEW – In their book “Cuba Cars: Classic Cars of the Caribbean,” authors Harri Morick and Rainer Floer don’t try to give an exhaustive overview of the politics of Cuba, nor in their words does it “pretend to be a reference book on automotive engineering.” The writers do a fine job of helping us understand the lengths everyday Cubans will go to in order to keeping their vintage treasures alive – including MacGuyver-level Hyundai engine-swaps into Tri-Five Chevys. They also point out interesting and historically relevant landmarks throughout the island.

Petersen Museum opens Lowrider Art Exhibit

LA CAR REPORT—I recently had the privilege to visit the new Lowrider exhibit, “The High Art of Riding Low” at the world renown Petersen Automotive Museum. The exhibit will run until June 3 2018, so we encourage all car enthusiast to go visit while you can. You really don’t have to be a lowrider or even a car enthusiast to enjoy this exhibit. Yes it’s car oriented but it’s about culture and art and cars just happen to be the medium for it. Tom Gomez reports.

In doing so, Speed took the Supercar driver’s championship and Volkswagen locked up the manufacturer’s championship. On the GRC Lites* side, DirtFish Motorsports’ Conner Martell battled it out for the win while Frenchman Cyril Raymond piloted the OLSBERGS MSE X FORCES car to the championship.

Ford Fusion Hybrid Platinum

AUTO REVIEW—Our 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid review vehicle is similar in most respects to earlier versions, which is a very good thing because Ford has produced a winner. Differences come via the newly offered Platinum Package that brings along a group of what we previously referred to as Options. Harold Osmer reports.
