Formula D is back in Southern California for the Championships. For those not in the loop, "D" stands for "drift". Round 7, the title fight, is what it all has come down to at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. With open practice and a qualifying round taking place today (Oct. 7th), the real excitement will begin tomorrow afternoon (Oct. 8th). A drift event is something any auto-enthusiast should enjoy at least once, preferably more often if possible. Seeing cars slide sideways is always great fun, and for those of you in LA this weekend, you can get close enough to smell the burning rubber. Seeing the skill of these drivers and experiencing the shared excitement in the stands is something hard to communicate in writing. We will be covering the main events tomorrow so check out our subsequent coverage if you can't make it out. - Mark Dorman Tickets start at $26 a person and can be reserved here.
