Super Sleek: 2020 Audi A5 Model Line Gets A Thorough Design Refreshment

The second generation of the A5 model line gets revamped with a sporty exterior and a boost of innovative technology.
Audi’s A5 model line consists of the Coupe, Sportback, and Cabriolet, along with the S line offering the same body variants. Audi has done an admirable job refreshing the A5 just enough, continuing a theme that I believe to be consistent across all of the German manufacturer’s models.
Noticeable alterations appear on the exterior, particularly in the front end, revealing an authoritative presence. The front grill has undergone some changes by redesigning the ventilation slits and air inlets. The LED headlights and taillights look sharp and showcase some lighting animations for the turn signals and the locked/unlocked functions.
On the interior, the big focal point is the new MIB 3 infotainment system, installed in the 10.1” touch screen set in the instrument panel. The new third generation infotainment platform can operate up to 10 times faster than the MIB 2 version. Acoustic feedback is included with the MIB 3 along with natural-voice control, both designed to allow the driver to focus more on the road ahead.
Up front, the A5 line is equipped with Audi’s 2.0L turbocharged engine producing 248 horsepower and 273 ft.-lb. of torque. Paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission and quattro® all-wheel drive, the A5 coupe reaches 60 mph in 5.6 seconds (Sportback 5.7 seconds, Cabriolet 6.0 seconds).
The S5 line comes armed with a beefy 3.0L turbocharged V6 pumping out 349 horsepower and 369 ft.-lb. of torque. The S5 models are mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission and quattro® all-wheel drive, boosting the Coupe from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds (Sportback 4.5 seconds, Cabriolet 4.8 seconds).
The standard Audi Drive Select comes with four different modes – comfort, auto, dynamic and individual – and alters things like shift points and damper control. Sport suspension is available on Coupe and Sportback models, and the optional Dynamic Steering is offered on the S5 models exclusively.
