Rick Hendrick must be a very happy man. Hendrick, self-proclaimed as the number one Corvette junkie in the world and owner of Hendrick Motorsports, can now add the first 2020 Corvette to his collection.  All of the proceeds from the auction will go to charity, most notably the Detroit Children’s Fund – a non-profit organization that aims to increase the number of quality schools in Detroit via targeted investments.

“I am the number one Corvette junkie in the world, said Hendrick. “Thanks to Chevrolet and Barrett-Jackson, because they always pick charities that are so good and help so many people.”

Hendrick chose to take delivery of the mid-engine coupe at the Bowling Green, Kentucky Corvette plant. This choice also comes with a letter of authenticity, a hosted tour of the Corvette Museum, and unique artwork.

A heavy-duty dose of bragging rights comes with owning the first mid-engine ‘Vette, but it doesn’t stop there. The first production 2020 Corvette Stingray comes chock full of goodies including the Z51 performance package, a performance data recorder and the fully loaded 3LT trim. In addition, Hendrick’s car also comes equipped with GT2 seats, a black interior, rear spoiler, black seats with red trim, red seatbelts and a removable roof panel.

As soon as Mr. Hendrick decides to drive his new Corvette, he’ll enjoy being at the wheel of the next era of the Corvette. And his is the first.
