Now surpassing the Nissan Leaf, Hyundai’s IONIQ Electric boasts an impressive range. The IONIQ accomplishes this thanks to an upgraded battery pack, increasing from 28 kWh to 38.3 kWh. With a combined 133 MPGe, the 2020 Hyundai IONIQ is one of the most efficient vehicles sold in the States.

While the range increase is very impressive, Hyundai has also boosted the horsepower. Jumping from 118 hp to 134 hp, the performance gets a noticeable improvement. A 7.2 kW on-board charger replaces the old 6.6 kW unit, shortening the charging time. If you use a 100-kW fast-charging station, the IONIQ can reach an 80% charge in as little as 54 minutes.

The 2020 Hyundai IONIQ gets more than performance upgrades; the exterior and interior have also undergone some changes. On the outside, expect to see LED lights all around, new wheel designs, new bumper fascias, and a new pattern on the grill. On the inside, new cosmetic pieces appear in the cockpit and on the dashboard. The instrument panel has been revamped and a new center LCD information screen resides within reach with improvements to navigation and controls. Two new paint colors are also available: Stellar Silver and Electric Shadow.

A handy partnership between Hyundai and Amazon presents a few useful advantages if you own the IONIQ, or any Hyundai plug-in electric models. The ‘Digital Showroom’ on Amazon.com is a one-stop shop for home charging solutions. Amazon allows you to shop for home chargers and have them installed via Amazon Home Services. Installations will use licensed electricians and are backed by Amazon’s Happiness Guarantee.
