Pictures by Roy Nakano It was the home of the legendary Ascot Park (AKA Los Angeles Speedway). The first home of Datsun in America. It’s the birth place of import tuners from across the Pacific rim (see LA Car's In Search of the First Datsun 510 Street Tuner). Gardena, California can add another automotive badge under its belt: It’s now the headquarters for Carroll Shelby International. The Gardena headquarters is also the site of the annual Carroll Shelby Tribute and Car Show, which celebrated its third one this past weekend. LA Car was there to capture the Cobras, Mustangs, Daytonas, Raptors, Tigers and various other life forms on display at the Figueroa Street facility.
