EVENT—American Public Media’s Marketplace Money took their show on the road—from the Frank Stanton Studios in downtown Los Angeles over to KPCC's Crawford Family Forum in Pasadena. Host Tess Vigeland interviewed Phil Reed (Senior Consumer Advice Editor for Edmunds) and provided a hands-on demonstration by mechanic Rebekah Fleischaker (AKA "carchick"). The topic: “Car Buying in LA: How Not to Get Ripped Off”

Members of the all-women Hell’s Belles Car Club, Los Angeles Chapter, were showing some of their four- and two-wheeled hardware. The Temaki and Crazy Creole Cafe food trucks were there supplying the consumables. Approximately 100 residents converged on the KPCC premises to partake in the Marketplace Money event. On Sunday, May 1, 2011, the on-air version of the show will air on KPCC FM 89.3, 2-3 p.m. .
