Sample more than 25 wines and more than 20 different truffles and chocolate delights as you stroll among a large assortment of Aston Martins, classic Jaguars, rare Shelby Mustangs, Ford GTs and one-of-a-kind collectible automobiles at one of LA’s most exclusive car collections. Gourmet hors d'oeuvres created by former Beverly Hills Hotel Executive Chef and current Executive Chef of the Horseless Carriage Restaurant will also be featured.

Galpin Motors Owner Bert Boeckmann’s private Collection Room is closed to the general public, but for this special event, Galpin is opening their doors. The Collection Room is a spectacular showcase of their private collection of Aston Martin, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, Mustang and several of the highly collectible Ford GTs, even a super-rare Saleen sports car. The Saleen S7 is a true road-going race car; hand built and capable of speeds over 200 mph. The Collection Room is also the location where the popular TV show “Pimp My Ride” filmed their reveal scenes. Among the standouts are a couple of Ford GTs, one of which is number three off the assembly line-the dashboard is personally autographed by racing legend Caroll Shelby. Join the San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center for Decadence – A Fine Wine & Chocolate Tasting Event being held on May 15, 2011 from 3-6 p.m. taking place at “The Collection,” which features the private car collection of Galpin Motors Owner Bert Boeckmann, a collection not open to the general public. This event will also feature gourmet hors d’oeuvres prepared by former Executive Chef of the Beverly Hills Hotel, Geovanni Euceda. Tickets are $50/person. Galpin Motors is presenting Decadence in conjunction with the Center and will feature tastings from The Chocolate Bar, Chocolates á la Carte, Chocoveda, Cottonwood Canyon Winery, Gotta Have Chocolate Now, Harmony Cellars, Kobrand Wine & Spirits, Le Vigne Winery, Malibu Toffee, Ococoa, Roxo Port Cellars and Sculpterra Winery. Some highlights from the collection being featured are Ronald Reagan’s 1965 Convertible Mustang, 1956 Jaguar XK-140 customized by Von Dutch, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner and Ed “Big Daddy” Roth’s Mysterion. People from all walks of life are affected by mental illness – it knows no socio-economic boundaries. One in five families is affected by a severe mental or emotional illness such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or major depression. The San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center, Inc. has been “moving lives forward” in our community since 1970 is one of the largest mental health centers of its kind in Los Angeles County. The Center now serves more than 15,000 individuals each year with 35 different programs serving all age groups 0-100. The mission of the Center is to enhance the mental health of children, youth, adults and families within the community regardless of their ability to pay and is committed to treating all clients with dignity and improving their quality of life.
