Aston Martin Gives First Look At DBS GT Zagato

The Italian design house Zagato has just given the world a glimpse at the new DBS GT Zagato; the second car in the “DBZ Centenary Collection”.

The DBZ Centenary Collection is Zagato’s way of celebrating their 100th birthday. The DBS GT Zagato is actually the second car in the collection. The first car is the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation which is essentially a re-production of the classic 60s coupe.

The idea here is that both cars are sold together as a pair so that the owner has old and new; serving as philosophical bookend of eras.

The DBS GT Zagato is based on the current DBS Superleggera but with a completely reformed exterior meant as a homage to the original DB4 GT Zagato.

This includes incorporating the iconic “double bubble” which is synonymous with Zagato’s design work.

That’s not to mention the wrap around windshield and sculpted lines depicted in the renderings.

While it is still early in the process, I can tell that the final production vehicle is going to be one of those cars that can be stared at for hours.

Unfortunately seeing one of these in person will likely be exceptionally rare.

Since the DBZ Centenary Collection will be sold in pairs, they are also extremely limited.

Only 19 examples of each car will be produced and each pair will set a buyer back ÂŁ6,000,000 pounds (plus tax) which is well over $8,000,000 dollars.

Furthermore, since each car in the pair is built differently, the cars will not be delivered simultaneously.

The DB4 GT Zagato and DBS GT Zagato will reach buyers in Q4 2019 and Q4 2020 respectively.

While Aston Martin didn’t specify, I would be willing to bet all 19 pairs are already spoken for.
