WeatherTech Raceway will host this annual event which will boast thirteen run groups this year.

One way to know if the car you own has extreme historical significance is by receiving an elusive invite to the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. A 12-person team debates on which vehicles are worthy of that invite, which brings together some of the world’s finest racecars. The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at WeatherTech Raceway will take place August 13-16 (hopefully) and will span a century of racing history.

There will be 13 run groups, including heavyweights from the Trans-Am and Can-Am era. Chevrolet Camaros, Dodge Challengers and Ford Mustangs all ferociously competed in the Trans-Am days, while McLarens, Shadows and Lolas thundered around the 1.9-mile circuit during the Can-Am era. Both groups of cars will be welcomed back for the Reunion to once again roar around WeatherTech Raceway.

Another featured run group this year is the popular IMSA GTO/GTP group. Joining Porsches, Jaguars and Nissans will be two American Racers’ Toyota Eagle MkIII GTPs. If that doesn’t excite your racing genes, then maybe the 1963-1966 GT over 2500cc run group will. Fan favorite Corvettes, Mustangs, and Cobras will battle head-to-head for manufacturer supremacy.

To accompany the Reunion races, Monterey Car Week will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Pebble Beach Road Races. Over 30 historic cars from the 1947-1955 Sports Racing and GT era have been selected to honor this anniversary and Laguna Seca’s beginnings. The Del Monte forest will once again echo with the roars of race cars snaking down its narrow roads.
