The Art Of Racing In The Rain by Garth Stein is a cherished novel; especially by dog lovers and racing enthusiast. Today, the world got a first look at the film adaptation.

In case you haven’t heard of it, The Art of Racing In The Rain is told from the point of view of a dog named “Enzo”. Enzo wishes to understand his owner “Denny Swift” as part of a larger personal mission. The mission being becoming human in the next life. Denny, an aspiring race car driver forms a bond with Enzo as he faces professional and personal struggles.

Through observation, Enzo starts to gain insight on what it is to be human. It wouldn’t be a spoiler to say that there is going to be some commentary on the human condition therein.

The film adaptation features Milo Ventimiglia (star of This Is Us) as Denny and Kevin Costner as the inner voice of Enzo. Amanda Seyfried (Mama Mia, Mean Girls) plays Eve, Denny’s wife.
