An opportunity to showcase your member companies as employment destinations for
the large number of highly qualified graduating seniors competing in the event. These students can be viewed as both future employees and future customers (on
both a B2B and retail level). These are young adults with a passion for performance regardless of the wheel count.
Compared to the traditional interview process, this competition allows you to
observe the students working on a project. By competing they have proven
that they can deliver a project on-time, on-schedule, and as a team. These
are three qualities that every company desires, but are difficult to verify in a
traditional interview process.
Best of all, this is NOT a pay-to-play situation. The 2006 Formula SAE
West event is fully funded by the SAE Foundation. The focus of Formula SAE
West is in bringing engineers, engineering managers, other automotive
professionals, and recruiters to the competition to interact directly with the
students.
A volunteer orientation is being hosted on Saturday, April 22nd at the NHRA
museum. All are welcome.
