RIDE DOWN MEMORY LANE IN HONDA’S CARS, BIKES AND COFFEE

The August Cars, Bikes and Coffee Show at the American Honda Collection Hall in Torrance is adding some heavy frosting on this automotive cake: Rides in vintage Honda and Acura collector cars.
Every other month, American Honda Motor Company opens the American Honda Collection Hall in Torrance, California for the ultimate cars and coffee event. Honda’s Cars, Bikes, and Coffee Show is one of the best around. Not only is this show freeway-close, it includes the indoor facility of the Collection Hall.

For August, Honda’s Cars, Bikes, and Coffee Show offers five more reasons to come to this month’s show: Rides in a 1991 Acura NSX, 2006 Honda S2000 roadster, 2001 Acura Integra Type R, 1988 Honda CRX Si, and 1986 Honda Civic Si. All of collector car status.
The event is on Saturday, August 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (gates open starting at 7:30-8:00 am). “As always, the American Honda Collection Hall museum will be open, and we’ll have a live DJ, free coffee, giveaways, vendors, and exhibitor food trucks,” says Carl C. Pulley of Honda Heritage Public Relations.

Honda encourages visitors to drive or ride their own interesting vehicle or motorcycle of any brand or era to display while enjoying the museum and event activities. Although the show attracts the full spectrum of unique cars and bikes, the rides brought in by the region’s Honda enthusiasts are particularly noteworthy.
Cars and Coffee with a Theme
Each show has a theme and includes special displays, exhibitors, vendors, music, food trucks, giveaways, a store and café. For the April 5th show, the theme was racing, celebrating all forms of auto and bike racing. It also served as a kick-off celebration for the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. LA Car photographer Albert J. Wong was there to capture the moment (see his photographs accompanying this story.

“The American Honda Collection Hall showcases products that highlight the success of Honda in America that began in Southern California in 1959,” says Carl Pulley. “We invite you to immerse yourself in the Honda story through historical, current, and future products, all fueled by the Power of Dreams.”
The Schedule Through 2025
Honda puts earnest effort into the themes for each show. Here’s what the schedule looks like through the end of the year:
October 18 (Customization – highlighting accessories, modifications, and personalization)
December 13 (Clubs & Community – celebrating car and bike enthusiast groups and giving back to the community)
About the Honda Collection Hall
The Honda Collection Hall officially launched in September of 2023, and fills the big void left when the Toyota USA Automobile Museum closed in 2017, after Toyota Motor North America moved out of Torrance and into its current venue in Plano, Texas. The American Honda Collection Hall is arguably even more comprehensive than the former museum, as it houses Honda’s history of motorcycles.
Location and Parking
The American Honda Collection Hall is in the lobby of Honda's U.S. headquarters. "We welcome visitors to attend free of charge during public Cars, Bikes & Coffee Shows, says Pulley. The Hall is not open on other weekends but is on weekdays during regular work hours.
