LA Car is a magazine about the LA car culture. We feature one of the most comprehensive online collections of automotive reviews, auto show reports, a tuner directory, consumer tips, information on car laws, and articles on car design, car performance, automotive history, the new hot rod culture, and other items of interest to the car enthusiast. The newsstands carry plenty of car magazines, but there is a need for a car publication to address the particular concerns of Angelinos - i.e., the traffic, the smog, the car clubs, the geography, and the laws that impact the drivers. The medium of the World Wide Web allows us to serve on a playing field with the largest of corporate American publishers. The Web also allows us to hotlink other sites of related interest - e.g., ongoing traffic reports, Caltrans freeway plans, etc. LA CAR began in 1997 as an online magazine about the LA car culture, and has evolved into an automotive review service. While it remains deeply rooted in this motor city, LA Car’s reports, reviews, and essays appear in Patch, Yahoo News, and other media sources—including print publications—that reach an audience far beyond Los Angeles.

Lifestyles of the Rich and Revolutionary Recently, LA Car has focused its attention more toward "lifestyle" vehicles. Flying Spurs, Phantoms, Veyrons, Spyker C8s, Continental GTs, and even Sunseeker yachts are no strangers to our review section. Coverage of celebrity-filled automotive events, with stars ranging from Jamie Foxx to Jay Leno also flank the pages of LA Car. But "lifestyle" is not just about flying ladies, flying B's, prancing stallions, or spinning blue propellers. Enthusiasts pushing the green envelope, import tuners, street racers, lowriders, off-roaders, and others make up the fascinating community we call the car culture.

LA Car has come a long way since its formative days as the "journal of Los Angeles and its car culture". Our audience is now global, and have been re-published by automotive manufacturers, entertainment publications, and other automotive publications. LA Car's articles and reports have been covered in local news stories on ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC television as well as on radio stations KNX, KFWB, KFI, and KPFK. Moreover, LA Car personnel have appeared on stations KCET, KLSX, KNX, KFWB, and KFI.
