SEMA steps it up to provide assistance to charities through its first SEMA Cares cars & coffee meet

SEMA is a lot more than a glitzy annual show in Vegas with a ton of modified cars and trucks. SEMA is actually the industry trade association that represents the manufacturers of aftermarket accessories ranging from performance parts to underglow lights. Established in 2007, SEMA Cares has provided member companies with a way to have a positive impact on the world outside of the automotive industry.

Specifically, SEMA Cares supports three causes: Austin Hatcher Foundation for pediatric cancer, Childhelp for prevention and treatment of child abuse, and the Victory Junction camp for children with serious medical conditions and serious illnesses.

Our friend AJ Spagnola from Vicious Off-Road pitched SEMA with the idea of a chill cars & coffee-style event to help raise funds for SEMA Cares charities, and SEMA took him up on the concept. In addition to raising funds, the event gave folks access to the beautiful SEMA Garage facilities. AJ’s dad Mike Spagnola is SEMA’s vice-president of OEM and Product Development Programs. The SEMA team gave tours on all the resources available to SEMA member companies including testing equipment, photo cove, and OEM data.

The first SEMA Cares event knocked it out of the park with hundreds of cars and attendees enjoying the beautiful SoCal weather and the hospitality of the SEMA team, which included over 75+ volunteers. Congratulations to AJ, SEMA, and the SEMA Cares team.
