Tremendous amount of Shelby vehicles, muscle cars, and custom builds show up to Bruce Meyer’s All-American Cruise-In.
On Sunday, January 26, 2020, the Petersen Automotive Museum hosted a cruise-in welcoming a staggering amount of American muscle cars. This particular cruise-in was themed towards Shelby vehicles, and attendees were treated to a panel discussion about the ‘Ford v Ferrari’ film. An impressive amount of Shelby cars showed up, including original Cobras, GT350s, and continuation vehicles.
While many cars at the cruise-in broke necks, two cars in particular warranted award-worthy qualities. First off, Steve Han’s gorgeous 2016 Shelby Mustang GT350 received the Hammertime Excellence Award. Secondly, a stunning 2017 Shelby Mustang GT350R owned by Chris Porter won over the fans and earned the People’s Choice Award.
If the cruise-in wasn’t enough to satisfy your automotive cravings for the weekend, the event ended with a fascinating panel discussion. Moderated by Petersen Founding Chairman Bruce Meyer, the panel was loaded with car gurus. Featured panelists included designer Peter Brock; Peter Miles, son of racing driver Ken Miles; crew chief Charlie Agapiou; Carroll Shelby’s grandson Aaron Shelby; driver Allen Grant; film producer Lenny Shabes; and A.J. Baime, whose book “Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari, and Their Battle for Speed and Glory at Le Mans” inspired the film itself.
“Each month, our Breakfast Club cruise-ins gather enthusiasts from every corner of Los Angeles for a morning of conversation, laughter and some truly amazing cars,” said Petersen Executive Director Terry L. Karges. “Bruce Meyer’s American Car Cruise-in delivered all that and more with the addition of the special panel discussion about ‘Ford v Ferrari’ and the early days of Shelby American.”
