Words by Sean Spear Pictures by Roy Nakano “The near record-breaking heat was no match for the coolness of the cars that showed up for the 24th Annual Monrovia Hot Rod, Custom Car & Motorcycle Show this past Saturday. Cars for all tastes were present, but as always, the Street Rods took center stage.

Historic Myrtle Avenue in Old Town Monrovia served as the perfect backdrop for the show, with the street’s businesses opening their doors for attendees looking into some shopping opportunities, or just the chance to escape the heat with a cool beverage. A variety of street vendors were also on hand to sell a variety of car-related or other interesting items. LA Car was there to snap a few pics and swap a few stories:”
