The World's Biggest Cruise - with a little bit of everything

Metro Detroit's annual Woodward Dream Cruise is the largest 1-day automotive event in the world, typically drawing 40,000 classic cars and one million spectators. Spanning a 16-mile stretch of Woodward Avenue from Ferndale to Pontiac, classic and custom car aficionados show off and indulge in the history of the automobile, lining the avenue with cars, spectators, manufacturer displays and private events. This year's cruise was cut short by afternoon and evening rain showers, chasing most classic cars home by 4 pm.
The official website for the Woodward Dream Cruise starts off with "Did you know that the Woodward Dream Cruise actually started as a small fundraiser to raise money for a soccer field in Ferndale, Michigan?"... That was a while ago, and quite a few cruises ago. Today, cars and folks come from all around the globe - from as far away as New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and many parts of Europe - to join in on the fun with thousands of enthusiats from North America.
